In a previous post, I displayed this graph and wondered whether the Red line (California) above the Blue line (U.S.) was a new trend. Below is the updated graph after California's miserable employment report for December. It looks pretty clearly like a synchronized collapse of employment, and not the beginning of a trend where the U.S. is declining more rapidly than California.
